Sequoia Christian Preschool is all about teaching young children. At SCP, our hope is for students to learn biblical principles, character and skills to be life-long learners and productive citizens as they serve Christ. Here at SCP we provide a nurturing Christian environment where we offer an excellent academic program grounded in biblical principles. God's Call

Dan Mahaffie God has blessed our church with a wonderful facility to educate people in God’s love and grace. For years we used it nearly every night of the week but nothing was happening during the day.

As we were praying for direction in meeting some of the needs in our community one need that was brought up was childcare. There are many new families in our city and many more moving into our city. They would need quality childcare.

We prayed. We began looking at who God had placed in our church in the education field. We noticed we had two preschool directors and several who have worked in preschools. Looking at who God has placed in your church can be part of knowing God’s will. It was also brought to our attention that our facility was built to one day have a preschool or even a school meeting here. We felt this was one direction God had for our church. As we prepared for this opportunity, it was exciting to watch God open doors and meet the needs of Sequoia Christian Preschool. As you read our Mission and Vision statements you will see where our emphasis continues to be: to educate people in God’s love and grace.

Our Vision

Sequoia Christian Preschool will offer a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. We will teach the fundamentals of learning along with the basic principles of God's Word.

Our qualified staff is dedicated to facilitating each child's early childhood development. We will reach out to help each child and their families experience the love of God.

We exist as a preschool for the purpose of providing a loving environment where each child may develop physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. We are a Christian preschool where Biblical principles and morals are taught.

Our Goals

The goal of Sequoia Christian Preschool is to meet developmental objectives in 4 areas of the child's life:

Spiritual: To make God, His Word, and His Son a part of the child's daily experience by sharing Bible stories and learning how God acts and deals with His people. Also to teach truths about the Chrsitian faith such as God loves all people and is good and deserves ouir worship.
Social/Emotional: To develop the social skills of cooperation and negotiation to resolve interpersonal problems. We also teach the children to develop a social and cultural awareness by appreciating and respecting the family, developing manners and finding ways to be helpful
Physical: To learn physically in a healthy and safe environment whild developing large and fine motor skills. We also teach emergency preparedness and classroom and playground safety.
Intellectual/Academic: To develop a positive attitude toward education while learning new skills like counting, classification, paatterning, number recognition, measurement, and alphabet recognition and sounds. We also teach children to understand God's universe and the peoples of His world.
